A friend/coworker used the Alpineduro shoe through an extra harsh winter here seeing 112+ inches of snow and months of temps below freezing. He recommends them, and says that they are incredibly warm. Too warm for moderately cold days.

I also stumbled across these, the Giro Alpineduro, not good for the summer but potentially a commuting gamechanger for winter. Waterproof and insulated, what more could you want for horrid commutes?
wore mine for the first time today. one cleat plate thread sheared off when using a torque wrench to 5nm (thankfully it had 2 sets of holes so could still be used)
the boots filled with water in tonights downpour, but the insulation worked well, my feet were in a warm wet bath!

Thinking of finally ditching my trusty DZR's after many years of use as they're finally starting to fall apart. Pleased to see there's a girl version of the Giro Rumble VR, the Giro Petra VR.
