Getting grim on the way to 2nd overall in 1:00.52 on a thoroughly unpleasant lumpy club 25 last night. Bent an armrest in a collision with a pothole, took the next 3 miles to convince myself the bars weren't going to disintegrate underneath me.

@StevePeel
Nice pic -Are you using Zipp spacers on your Parabolicas?
-
• #9730
Yes, the bar clamps on the parabolicas need a little filing to match the profile of the spacers perfectly but it's a piece of cake.

Rode E21/25 last night. My first TT on fixed gearing using a Dolan Track Champ. Whilts not a Hilly TT, Its not a flat course either and a poor gear selection of 53X13 really hurt - i should have stuck with the 16T i rode out on and spun it instead. Alex Dowsett turned up and rode setting 49m24s whereas i got a 1h2m31s. Flipped the wheel back round to get home but after a total journey of 54miles i was knackered. Still a great night.

Tester's Tandem, now with added trispoke!
Tonight yielded the exact same time as a fortnight ago, but with very different splits. 106" meant lower average cadence too.
I've decided that riding this is basically fine, until you get to a roundabout. I think we hit them a bit faster this week, and I'm pretty sure I experienced simultaneous understeer from the front and and oversteer from the rear.
Nice to you Ed. -

Nah, it just feels odd being so far from the front wheel. Just relax and enjoy the ride, I'm pretty sure I'm faster round the turn on the solo bike and I still ride that like it has 177.5 cranks :-)

@mdcc_tester @umop3pisdn strong riding again tonight you looked rapid coming the other way!
Haven't felt settled on my bike since my last tt and tonight was no different - but there were at least few moments
Interestingly put out lower power than I did for my last PB on the course (last year) but was faster by 1:40 - guess shows how important aeros are!
Hopefully I can get back into a nice grove again and find the missing 40 watts from my best 10 mile effort!

I improved my season's cp20 by 10-15w tonight, but was still about 20w down on last year's cp20.
Echoing #aeroiseverything I was only 8 seconds off my pb on what was a pretty slow day on the h10/181.

I suppose so. It doesn't feel quite as good when the clubs real big hitters aren't out though! looks like you and Tester are having fun on the tandem, would you not go a lot faster with extensions on the front? or does handling get a bit scary?
-
• #9739
Fun is one word. It would probably be a bit faster, but I think it's a step too far for the time being. TBH it's too small for me at the back, so don't think we'll be doing any mega-serious racing on it.

Massive kudos to my Clubmate Rob Bullyment, rode 257.7 miles in the Newbury 12hr on 88" fixed and broke the Clubs 12hr record that has stood since 1973 by one mile

Don't do yourself down - that's a great result and always good to collect some silverware!
Was pretty windy yesterday, which can't have helped much either.
Will have to try and make it out to the lake next week.
Which reminds me, I need to enter some more opens!

Good to update an old record.
I'd definitely want a shockpost riding that course fixed.
gudunk gudunk gudunk gudunk gudunk gudunk gudunk...

Think I'm gonna have to source an alternate front wheel for my 12hr, ain't no way I'm facing 9 hours of the Chawton stretch on a 20c!

just entered my first 25 - a MM event on P885/25 on 13th July - like the idea of racing on a Monday evening - apparently its a fast course - anyone know it?
I will then at least have a PB for 10-100m to go after next year...
Might even count as a real tester then!

• #9747
Dunno, but I'm hopefully riding the 50 version next week.
-
• #9748
anyone know it?
I've ridden the 50, which is basically two laps of the 25. It's worth doing a google street view recce of the turns as they are not just simple roundabouts.

Re: LTS
Should these times just be based on Open events? -

Club events count, unless it's a National.
In case anyone's ever wondered what Dowsett's FTP is:
