No the rims is very thin and designed to be ridden with an MTB tyres that typically run at 30-40psi, NoTube was afraid that putting smaller tyres that required a higher pressure to perform well will likely cause the tyres to pop out or damaged the rims.
With ZTR Crest, I would recommend a minimum of 28mm, at that size, it look exactly how a 23mm tyres look on 17mm internal rims.

So the rim isn't that stiff and running them at high pressure compresses the rim reducing the spoke tension and making them go out of true?
Is that on 32h builds or just lower spoke counts?
