Yep, J4/16. I would have been a bit annoyed if it'd been moved to J50e as I'd ridden J2/9 (the 25 mile version) and also J4/16 in recent months as prep for the 50. No power meter but based on my course model I reckon I must have power PB'd at >300w for it which is good in my grim aero position.

On course at Bentley now. Tops retired after 4.5 hours. Mark Holton of D2Z smashing it on a SS (not fixed). Seen Hippy on the opposite DC, waiting for him to pass.

Hippy just rolled past, must have had a stop. Looking very controlled and focussed. Anyone who says black is slimming hasn't seen Hippy in a skinsuit.

Hippy not looking to much. He caught me on my way out to my marshall point, but didn't put distance into my liked I'd expect. Out of the tri bars quite a lot. Hopefully just a bad patch.

Saw him freewheeling a downhill section on my way out. Saves fatigue in the legs I guess not having to spin at high cadence, especially as he'll be running a lower gear for the longer duration. Seems to be working for him.

Fatigue was all I could think off, but then why not gears? Unless he's usually fixed and doesn't have the kit, so just slung a freewheel on...
