  • The tyres is On. Fucking. Point.

  • Compass Barlow Pass 38mm

    Standard of extra light?

  • Agree the tires look awesome. Do you notice a difference with the Ultegra?

  • It better be Extra Light!

  • I bet you can get 650b 48mm in there.

Actually, I just realised you can just simply get a 650b wheelset, run 42mm tyres yet still have ample room for mudguard without any rub.

  • Sorry to disappoint. These are the Standard ones. Still roll better than pretty much all tyres i've had. Can't imagine what the extra lights are like. When my wallet allows...

Biro, Not really. Bought the Ultegra for a roadie build but ended up putting it on the bike i ride the most instead (this). Grammes and marginal gains ya know.

Ed, BB height? 2.5cm lower with 650b than my previous setup with 622 + 28mm. Dunno.. Would be lovely though.

  • Lower BB is full of win.

My other bike have a mere 352mm drop with 38mm.

    BTW 650b 42mm have similar height to 700c 23mm.

  • Might invest in a set of those tyres then!

  • Current BB height is ~28,3mm (floor to center bb) with these 37mm.

  • How do you find the frogs? Have you ever used Atacs? If so how do they compare?

  • My knees and i love them. They're like Zeros but with even more 'walking on ice' feeling. Very easy to clip in and out. Almost too easy. Wouldn't use them for technical riding, but for road & gravel riding with some walking they're perfect. I've used ATACs but the spring on them was way to tight for my taste. They're sort of expensive but if you have sensitive knees and enjoy Zeros they might be worth a try.

  • Looking to downsize my bicycle collection and get something similar built in the near future.

Assume Mk. 2. was sold in the end?

  • Hi

    Great looking bike. Very inspiring!

    What is the frame weight?

How long did it take for Rychtarski to make the frame?

  • Unfortunately yes. Regret it somewhat as it was damaged and dented by the courier after shipping it and we didn't receive any compensation. Major bummer.

I went from like 6 bikes last winter to currently only riding this and i haven't felt limited yet. Sometimes in the climbs i wish i had a lighter bike but that passes once i hit gravel and uneven roads.

  • Thanks man.
Never weighed it, but it's not light nor heavy. OS Zona tubing. The whole bike is like 9,5kg.
    It took them 2-4 weeks.

  • One surprisingly effective solution to the full-mudguards-on-eyeletless-fork problem is the VO QR mudguard stays:

I have them on my Pina (front and back), and they completely eliminate rattling (of which there was lots when I simply zip-tied the guards to the frame)

    Can be had here: http://freshtripe.co.uk/Freshtripe/Mudguards%20%26%20Racks.html

  • Light bikes are over rated! Still one of my fave bikes in the forum.

  • Read the whole story now. I love the bike more and more.

How is it working out with the relative short chainstays and clearance for 40c? It sounds perfect for what I want my self. Can you crosschain small chainring/small cog without the chain rubbing the big chainring?

Any special reason for chosing i.s. mounting for your brakes instead of post?

  • Slick 38's are the biggest that will fit with this front mech. Tried some 40mm Clement MSO's and the side knobs rubbed the front mech wire. A few mm longer chainstay would be nice. Swapping to 32mm and mudguards soon.
Dunno about chain rub. Never crosschain. Would like to try a 1x10 setup next though.

I.S was just because i wanted these Paragon dropouts.

  • Apart from front mech rub, could you fit 40mm? I wanna go 1*11 on mine and I want clearance but not a too long chainstay.

How about clearance for the chainring. Could you fit 52t?

  • With a different brake/seatstay bridge, yes. Pref. a curved one. There's a stupid caliper brake bridge on this one. Only ~5mm clearance with my 38mm Compass. (prob measure 40mm+ on these rims). 52T should work.

  • Any more recent pics of it? Dig this bike so much.

  • Bad photo and nothing new yet. Need new fork + tires for fall.
