  • Well I don't see myself paying $89.95 for it, especially if there's no dust removing capabilities; also ways to adjust for different film material seems very limited.

    Don't get me wrong, I fucking hate Silverfast.
    Can't wrap my head around how it's possible that such a pain in the ass software is the best there is for home use.
    But I guess there's no choice but make the best of it - I'm pretty sure there just won't be any new / better scan software, as nobody's developing one.

  • lol... actually, if I remember correctly, the full version of SF was much pricier compared to Vuescan - I considered buying a Reflecta scanner (which is tied with SF) and the full version of the software literally doubled the cost of the scanner, i.e. was in the realm of 250 - 300 euros; otherwise Reflecta came bundled with a ridiculously crippled version of SF (one was not allowed to export in TIFF format or something like that).

    ..yes, of course - but the QUATO Intelli Scan I have came with the "pro" Silverfast (Ai), so I already have this.
