I'd get them to meet you at the end of the line at Uxbridge. The M40 is the best way up to Birmingham as it's not full of lorry traffic (or 20 miles of 50mph roadworks) and you can get on it pretty quickly form there...

If the 6 passengers are willing to venture out further than Zone 3,
Hillingdon is better than Uxbridge,
1) right on the A40
2) parking available rather than the warden infested town centre of Uxbridge,
3) minor-ish roads from Heathrow to Hillingdon, through Stockley Park then Long Lane,
4) Hillingdon Circus has a Coop, and a few other shops for provisions.

me and a friend are picking up 2 rental cars from heatrhow on friday morning and want to pick up the remaining 8 people who live all around london mostly ~zone 2.
we don't want to have to drive particularly central, and after picking them up will be heading towards birmingham, where would be a good place in zone 2/3 to ask everyone to meet up that is easily to get to from heathrow ?
