Jeez they're shiny cranks. Should be great, Good luck !
Frame is a beauty also.

Thanks, I polished them up myself. They came off my '93 Dyna-Tech ti, as I found a pair of Dura Ace 7402's for that. Here's the before and after shot of those.
Currently trying to touch up the paint on the frame with some very thin looking Bianchi paint. Must be authentic, I got it from Taiwan! Lol
Being pearl finish, I'm guessing it will take a few coats to get it looking nicer.

Recently sold my bianchi, it was slx with external cable routing. Feels so bad, that i've never built it up with something decent. Looking forward to see it built up.

I'm afraid that bikes only go one way in my house !
This is number 13! Lolbt

Finally sourced a headset for this build, so hope to get started on it this week. I've been painting the chipped areas today, taking a while as I did several coats, looks a bit darker than original colour, but is slightly less noticeable than no paint. Maybe nail varnish would work better.
Got the seatpost -robbed from my Jackson- polished up,and the bars/stem/levers together too.
Not sure whether to use dirty white or black hoods. I have a choice of white or celeste Cinelli bar tape too.
Couldn't resist a mock up ( in between coats !Lol ) . The headset pictured is just cups, no bearings. As you can see, the forks are not original raked ones, but suit the bike I think, as well as being reasonably light

dark blue bartape ftw! (and saddle too - it is a real pain to source one that matches the tape but dark blue compliments the celeste so well.. imo.)

Hi ,thanks for the idea on blue, but I want to keep it mid '90s looking so that means white or celeste tape, along with a black Flite.
Found the front hub was on it's last legs on inspection. The bearing surfaces were pitted. A new one came today,So, an hour after starting to take the wheel apart, I have a stripped, rebuilt, trued, tensioned and tyred one!
Also, I gave up on the Bianchi touch-up paint and went into Tesco with the frame. Ta-da!Not a bad match tbh. A bit light maybe, but I'm pleased with it.Here's a couple more pics.
The top of the seat tube was bare metal, and there's some touch-in paint just above and to the left of the Columbus sticker. Hope to do the rest over the weekend.bt

Thank you for your kind comments, I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Lovely to ride as well. I'll get my appropriate gear on too, when I go out for a proper ride
Also managed to turn that photo around! LolMike

Hmm I believe I've already stated it, but I'll repeat it again :)
I loove the length of the stem& would look nice with alloy 10speed chorus shifters (plug&play with sh rear derry-8speed cassette)
Incredibly nice!

I found out about compatibility a couple of weeks ago. It's good to know for the future projects I haven't even thought up yet! Lol.
However, for this bike I want to keep it early '90s Shimano, and I think it looks right with aero levers and d/t shifters.Mike

Absolutely gorgeous. Best bike I've seen for a long time!

I'm not too keen on the groupset but it works out just fine and the proportions make this build look amazing. Not a fan of celeste either but that turned out really nice, one of the rather rare tasteful bianchi builds

Very very nice (I had a Bianchi TSX long ago and still regret I sold it). One thing I would change is the front forks. I may be wrong but I don't remember Bianchi ever had straight forks on their steel bikes.
But still a 9/10 score. ;-)
Hi folks, just thought I'd share some pics of my latest project,
As you can see, it's in need of some love, as well as parts. Here's what I have planned for it.
Tricolour Ultegra, other than the wheels, which have 65oo hubs. Not sure which of those stems I'll end up using. The Eclypse would look best, but at 140, maybe a bit long. The other one pictured is a 130.
Also the lever hoods are very creamy, any ideas how to get them whiter again? Tried Cif, but didn't do a great deal.
On the lookout for a headset now, so I can get the build started, hope you like
