I've got fake split BBS RS on my Mazda, made by Dare. Unless you buy the really cheap stuff, they're generally solid enough but heavier than the real deals. I'm going to get rid of mine at some point for something lightweight but I haven't decided what I want yet!

You don't really want *ultra*light wheels on a road car though.

It is funny though that many cheap alloys are heavier and harder to balance than steelies.

I've done it twice. Once on the GTI here and once on the M3 when I first had it.

I got out of the car, surveyed the damage and threw up.

With rim protectors I no longer have to distinguish between road and path...clearly.
