You contemplate buying a powermeter that's been pretty roundly shitcanned and then counter that with 'less than ideal wheel' presumably having a go at the well established and actually effective Powertap hub option? Erm... the matchbox option is sounding like your best bet. Cost effective and you can run any wheel you like..
