I use my anker astro e5, it's a bit overkill for just a garmin tho as it can charge my phone about 7 times or the garmin 15 times. If you have any sort of bag you can easy run a usb cable along to the garmin.

One of these taped under the stem.

Alternatively if you need more capacity look for larger units from Anker, I have found them to be reliable and truthful with regard to capacity. -

+1 for Anker - I have a small lipstick pack (the one linked by freezing77) for the same purpose and it works like a charm.

that's a very tedious thread ! " i've messed up with the files now it doesn't work it's not my fault "
still found someother sugestions though, ta ! -

Not as tedious as spreading the info out into a bunch of threads.
Battery packs have been discussed quite a lot already:

i knew i would eat my comment ! sorry.
fair enough all the advice i need is in the audax thread... but how come time atac pedals have their own thread and not battery packs ? -
• #11
Because everyone needs pedals. Not everyone needs Battery packs.
-
• #12
ATACs are also a pedal system. Batteries are not. Batteries for Garmins are best discussed over there in that very handy one-stop Garmin shop.
An Garmin Extended Battery Pack will get you 24hr out of an 800 without navigation btw

surely "battery packs" covers an array of items as much as powermeters or else does.
that said I'll switch to the audax or garmin topic for further advice and let that thread disappear naturally into the depths of the forums. -

24hrs ? i'll keep that in mind for a next purchase.my edge touring lasts around 8h to 11h depending on the amount of navigation.

I have 2 battery options, one is a small emergency phone charger like the one above but which takes AA batteries so can be replenished on the go. The other is a larger fag packet sized battery pack that will last several days.
having witnessed a slight dip in the life of my garmin battery, and also for practical reasons, i am after a battery pack for some light touring.
any advice, thoughts, experiences to share ?
obviously i'd like to avoid the dumping/stopping of a running activity on a gps device.
thanks
