Cycling primary all the way down priory lane is the way to go anyway.If you're anywhere near the gutter, someone will try and squeeze through with a car coming the other way. As soon as you plonk yourself towards the middle drivers have to wait until it is properly safe.
Also, I find when you ride primary, drivers judge the whole event better. They slow down earlier, wait for the right moment, accelerate gently and cruise past. If you sit in the gutter they drift up close too quickly, brake, edge out, then floor it past an inch from your elbow.
You can't do it that way, you're going right up against the motor lobby.
If cyclists crowd-funded a PIF campaign then just setting out the reasons for Primary would be helpful.
