Hello Look lovers, I might have found a really good deal for a 2012 695 SR and I would like to ask you some advice.
Seat tube has been cut and and luckily it will be the right size for me, but to avoid any surprise, I know that these frames use dedicated spacers to adjust the height for another 20mm max.
Are they safe and good to use?
Seller says is in used but really good condition overall, but I would like to ask you what else I need to check better, as I don't have much experience with these integrated-everything frames.
It will include the integrated adjustable stem (120mm) as well.Waiting for your advice!

The spacers come with the bike and are more than ok to use. I think they limit to 40mm? Ask @6pt as he has them on his. If the spacers don't get you as high as you would like, then you need to get a Look RSP seatpost, which does away with the ISP all together and returns it to regular seatpost style use. I use that on mine as it was cut too short.

That doesn't look like the integrated stem in that pic btw.

That's not a C-Stem, but it does just slot over the top of the steerer so if he's got it you'll be fine.
My brother bought a used 695 where the C-Stem had been installed badly and it constantly slipped, there were knurled aluminium shim things that grip bits inside and the knurling had worn away. He got replacements for them, but it's something to look out for. The C-Stem and Z-Cranks are really nicely engineered, but they can be fucked up by poor installation. Also make sure the steerer hasn't been cut too short to use the C-Stem, though by the look of that photo it should be fine.

ps. We need to organise a LOOK ride this summer. Totally failed last year, and now everyone's in on the skinny-tube-carbon thing there should be some interesting whips on show.

Shit really? 40mm probably would have been alright for me to use an epost. Balls

it won't be now you've chopped the fucker though :)
-
• #1314
I didnt chop anything!
-
• #1315
I thought you chopped it down to use the re:post?
-
• #1316
No, just left it where it was. Oh well.

Cheers, yes the one pictured is a regular 110mm a-head but luckily he will include the 120mm c-stem that came with the frame originally.

Thanks for the advice, so I'm pretty safe on the seatpost lenght. ;)
As said he will include the original c-stem as well, not sure why he got a regular stem just to have a shorter reach when the c-stem can be adjusted by moving the wedge in the clamp on the front... maybe it wasn't enough for him. Something to check for sure. -

Cool, so given that now as it is center bb to saddle rail clamp is at 70.5cm and i'll most likely need an extra cm max, there are no concern on over spacing the seatpost.
Thanks! -

Is there a name inscribed on the top tube / head tube?
Also, I have such a weird love for those Zed cranks. There is an odd one out chainring bolt though
