I can't make this ride but I would like the GPX if anyone can put it on the forum/send it to me afterwards please? I've got a friend I'm encouraging to ride distances and this route is sufficiently 'off the wall' for a first attempt.

I spend ages considering routes that are safe, fun and interesting for groups of people. I also spend a lot of time checking the route conditions and optimising the journey.

Until the ride has been run a few times I would prefer participants gpx trails and strava data to remain private.

I would encourage you and your friend to try make this date and the Grain ride. They are both quick but social, with the only stipulations being don't bring a badly-maintained bicycle or a bad attitude.
The Southend and Grain routes have multiple bail-out stations at decent intervals. Also the nature of some of the paths we'll use will lower speed often enough to allow recovery.
