  • Owning your own home thread is the new footy thread.

    Will there be tags?

  • Fucking solicitors. You got my money, you've had it for ten months, we went through all of your money laundering shit back then. You know who I am, where I live, what I earn, what I send my money on and to which side I dress. You would not take initial instruction directly from me for this new property because the last one was from my IFA. Fine, he has instructed you. Why now are you asking me to officially instruct you again?!?!?! Why didn't we just do that in the first fucking place?!?!?!?!?!?! Why am I waiting for you to transfer the files from one colleague to another?!?! It's a fucking handover, not rocket surgery!!! Furthermore, if you're saying it's "technically a completely new transaction" why wait for the handover anyway?!?!?! Make up your mind!

  • links to the radio derby clip ?

  • name and shame?

  • Not until this is over and probably not on a public forum

  • Happy to say who it is not if anyone has concerns about their own conveyancer

  • 1st property

  • Just reassure us it isn't the Forum sponsored choice?

  • Definitely not

    Edit - @WjPrince

  • It's linked in the footy thread somewhere, shouldn't be hard to find.

  • Since this is the official middle class thread is it also where we discuss furniture and the like? I need a sofa. Ideally nice but (not too) pricey.

  • Robin Day Forum from eBay sub £1k future design Classic.

  • well find it then

  • Offer rejected....

    God damn....

  • Be patient and just keep throwing poo at the wall. Something will stick eventually.

  • Freecycle: does anyone need a new waste for their bath? I have this brand new one left over from a set of taps. Don't all rush at once for this once in a lifetime opportunity...

sorry for the massive images. And best PM me in case I miss any comments.

  • Talking of plumbing, my fucking kitchen tap has broken - well the spout has anyway. Never really liked it, and it was a bit shit from the moment I bought the house, all stiff and not very useful. It half broke about 6 months ago and fully sheared where it's supposed to twist/rotate the other day. Currently held on with gaffer tape.
Looked up how much it would be to replace and it turns out it's an insanely expensive £800 tap. Who spends 800 quid on a tap?
Anyway, it's a weird 3 hole arrangement, one hole for each of the taps and the spout, so finding just a random spout is proving tricky. Any pro tips?

(it's this one: http://www.simplykitchensinks.co.uk/index.asp?SKSID=840&ItemID=8772&gclid=CMDw3fGf5MUCFbQatAodSS0AWw oooh 645 quid there, fucking bargain)

  • http://www.leathersofaworld.com/ bought a massive sofa from them ages ago and its amazing. They don't have my one any more but I was quite impressed at their delivery.
All subsequent flatmates and guests who have slept on it have loved it.

  • Actually. yes.

    I'll PM you.

  • @ChainBreaker Sorry to hear that, fella. You can have mine for £300k. Offer lasts until Monday.

  • sure. let me get my cheque book out @Sparky

  • Boing!

  • How do you guys go about using zoopla? Is it worth looking at previous and estimated values?

Is an increase of 20k acceptable? If its 20k over the estimated, is that acceptable for London?
