Lovely pacer and nicely shot. Those hubs are a bit flash to lockup.

I think they're stickers, so could be peeled away.

Have decided to buy a Croix de fer 2015. I have found a shop doing them for 399.99, has anyone seen one for cheaper anywhere? Cheers

That, that's the frameset?

yes for the frameset. The ugly orange one, I will have to get it painted.
-

Live with it for a bit. It grows on you. I thought the same as you, but I'm gonna thrash it around until it needs a repaint. No point savin yerself £75, then forkin out for a repaint (IMO).

If you are getting a 58 I would gladly trade for my blue one ...
Although that is growing on me every day and I'm getting some new decals cut to hide the genesis on the DT...
The orange is fucking liishshhhhhh m8 u mad. Super nice and subtle.

I'd like big tyres for my Straggler this summer.
Does anyone know of others who have done big tyres on their Straggler/Cross Check? I want to be sure there's enough space in the rear.
-
• #9644
How big do you want to go? I've got Knards in at the moment and they're pretty sweet on and off road. There's stacks of clearance at the back with the wheel in geared position, even more if you were to go singlespeed.
-

I'd like to keep the geared setup I'm running but simply switch tyres from my 35c Ribmo to something bigger and more comfortable, now that my commute is mostly off road.
I loved running 2.2s on my ESB in the past so I'd like to push for something slightly larger than the Knards if I can.

2.0" on the front, 1.75 Smart Sam on the back below... apparently clearance is tights at the back, possibly slammed back in the dropouts.
CTBM says Smart Sam is the biggest for Cross Check too... http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/schwalbe-smart-sam-700c-x-47mm---28-x-175---the-biggest-tyres-to-fit-a-surly-cross-check-2158-p.asp

I put some parts together and accidentally built a hybrid. Commuting with it has been quite comfortable, I think I may be getting old.

Lovely colour. Would look smashing with drop bars as well.

Nowt wrong with comfy and nowt wrong with gettin old.
Well......that is a very nicely built Pacer. They always look better in the larger sizes, unfortunately for me, I'm a short arse.
