  • Just found this thread and have one comment.

    Scoot is a hottie.

    That is all.

  • We know.

    Move on...

  • Cutting my own hair today, luckily it's curlyish so pretty forgiving. Prefer barbers though.
Eyebrows you've got balls to selfcut straight hair, good work.

  • Fuck it. Had an interview today and was told that I'd "need to get my hair cut" for the next stage.

I had it cut last night in anticipation for this one today.

Mortified that I have to have some kind of corporate chop.

  • Are you that woman whose braids cost her a job and have been causing uproar on Facebook?

  • Not yet, but nearly.

  • @bodieanddoyle

Corporate chops are bad enough, I recently had to have a going to court haircut... FML...

No fun telling a barber to make me look more respectable and seeing his face look puzzled.

  • I just searched "hair" in the hope that somewhere on the forum was a 'best places to go get your haircut where they'll let you take your bike in cos you're a dick and you haven't got a lock with you - in London' thread - anyone help?
Don't wanna be paying much more than £30 if I can help it!
    Hairdresser recommendations - GO:

  • just use your local barber and remember your lock
as it's in the future you should be able to plan that
or are you currently riding around london, hair getting in eyes, looking for a hairdresser

  • When I lived in London I used to go to one of those chain of £6 haircut places around Holborn. Never came out with anything terrible albeit definitions of short would vary quite a bit. Late Sunday mornings were good for post-hangover comedy gossip while they worked.

  • Well, I'm down in London for a few days without anything specific planned and just thought I'd see if there's a hairdressers someone is familiar with that could lower my ears. I guess London is a little different/bigger than Manchester, but if someone asked me the same of Mcr I could list a number of hairdressers that would probably oblige! And I rarely carry a lock anywhere to be fair as I don't really leave any of my bikes outside....

....time to buy a beater before I move to London.

  • I'll be no use to you then, the only place I can reccomend is in Sheff.

Definitely buy either a beater or a lock, probably best to do both.

  • Dorian at the Barber of Seville in Brixton lets me take my bike in when I forget my lock. There are bike stands outside so you can keep a pretty good eye on it using the mirrors.

    Great cut (imo) for £13

  • £30 for a haircut? Hah!

  • Haha I was expecting massively London inflated prices - normally pay £20 in Manchester!

  • £20 for a haircut? Hah!

  • Where's @Colin_the_Bald when he's needed?

  • I remember back in the day when my mum would take my brother, sister and me to the hairdressers. Her's used to cost a tenner and then all three of us would get trimmed for fifty pence each including a hairwash.

  • I'd happily recommend Shades in Islington - Pentonville Road by the station / round the corner from the 'Spoons. Really nice guys and they always let me bring my bike in.

  • In Camberwell, I normally go to 'refined male grooming' ..odd name I know. £9 I think. Consistently good trims. In soho splash is about the same cost, kind of feels like you're in a conveyor belt but get the job done

  • Gonna wander down there now sans bike, otherwise gonna wander up upper street and see what's going on there!

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas!

  • I don't really get what's the difference between £10 and £30 haircut?

  • With a £30+ cut, they are probably called a Hair Technician. Either that or they are riddled with tattoos and post-ironic clothes/ hair.
