• Excellent work from Nesbit, Kev, Blausten, Ed, Tim, Phil and Antonio this evening who gave the effort to make time and rebuild.

On behalf of everyone who plays at Herne Hill,

  • Last night was great, really glad we all chipped in and got that long side fixed up. There's still work to do though. centre uprights next affixing on the long side boards, net poles need to go up, corner needs a rebuild, net rehung.

I'm away from Saturday morning until Monday evening, Friday is the only evening I can do this week. Anyone free for that?

    1) do we want to buy any more of that black stuff when the guy in Peckham gets it in from woolwich this week? It looks very durable and doesn't need any extra treating from what I can tell. Presumably it's been out in the open for the last while but it's in VG condition.

2 ) should we make the court one or two panels wider? We have the panels now to do it, and we can do it before we put the corner back on, and just insert a couple of extra panels in at the middle of the other end. We can't make it longer, making it wider will still increase the diagonal length (for those sweet long diagonal passes). I think there is sufficient net for this.

  • Guys, good work. I can lend a hand Sunday with tools if that's any use?

  • Any fixing party at the weekend? Someone needs to come to Bermondsey tomorrow evening to pick up screws from me if there is..

If not, anyone free on Tuesday evening next week after work?

  • I can do all three days if peeps are in.

    Anyone with drills?

  • I can do tomorrow morning/afternoon for a few hours, want to be in and out though, got life stuff to do.

We'll need a few people to lift the corner back in place.

  • do we still need a van to get rid of the old broken bits?

  • Yes eventually, but not until it's finished. It'll mostly just be the old 4x8 panels.

  • I am around Saturday daytime, but then I am working all day Sunday and Monday.

  • Seems like people are away or busy on the bank holiday weekend, fair enough.

After work fixing party, Tuesday May 26th:

    1. kevin
  • Me and Tim going down tomorrow after work. Any other takers?

  • I can do an hour or 2, will be there around 6:30

  • I am around tomorrow, and happy to help. Also I have the key.

  • I might come around - just to watch.. or play if there is a extra bike. I donĀ“t have a bike or anything since i am comming from copenhagen..

  • Depends on how tomorrow pans out, ill try and make it if i can

  • @Lasss this is a thread discussing fixing a broken court at Herne Hill. There wont be any polo being played but you woiuld be very welcome if you were up for helping us out. Its actually pretty fun!

  • Nice one ed and Charlie. Let's get the corner patched up. I've charged my drill up even though it's not the most powerful. I should be there a bit before half six. Do come if you can Ben.

  • What time you heading there tonight? I'll come and help if I get out of work at a sensible time.

  • I'm here
