Ok, a decision is surely made not to use those rigida sputnik rims.

I have searched tinternt for alloy finished rims and come up with Ryde Chrina but they too are heavy, overkill and by looking at pictures seem to be silver polished.
-
• #29
tb14's?
-
• #30
Why couldnt you get 23s on the Sputniks? Their internal width (external doesnt matter) is 19mm which will take 23s fine. Pacenti SL23s are only a millimetre less than that at 18mm internal
-
• #31
wow, they are only 14mm in height. and from hplusson website :
"The pairing of a 23mm wide profile with a 23mm tire is fast becoming the industry standard for competitive road cycling."
-
• #32
you can physically install 23c tyre on 25mm rim but on their website they recommend tyre from 28c: http://www.ryde.nl/en/products?product=24

pacenti sl23 are a bit v-shaped for my liking
the pacenti pl-23 are good but have high polished finish
-
• #34
V shape is where its at.

Following trends is sooooo yesterday.
My ideal rim is alloy finish(not polished), box section, 23mm wide, 14mm height. emphasized text

There were some complaints on this site and elsewhere about Pelizzoli quality (paint jobs etc.). I think some of these were around the time of factory relocation and/or the sons taking over form the father.
Any idea if these issues have disappeared?
Also, anyone know how much a CORSA GP goes for these days? (It was something crazily cheap like the €450 around 2012). -

this is such a lush frame.

Shimano UN55 bb, 70x115mm. 36x24T.
-
• #42
115 is awful wide, are you saw it'll be ok? I took a look at that same crankset fitted to a 110mm bb and it really looked like a 107 would have been more suited for a correct chainline.
-
• #43
i just installed this bb and it is just the ticket. what frame did you see?
-
• #44
Sweet bike, loving the retro with the Campagnolo Pista deep sections, white or black Rolls saddle?
-
• #45
I think he was talking about the 115 axle width? If it is too long it can cause the chain line to be off as the cain sits further away from the frame than it does at the axle.
You probably already know that, but anyway. -
• #46
once rear wheel is ready, i will put 115mm to the test, check where chain line sits. if it is not alright i will get 113mm, however, anything shorter will not simply not do, at least with this chainset.
-
• #47
yeah, I'm surprised the chainset is that deep. Could always put spacers on the rear hub to get the cog further before swapping out the BB.
-
• #48
these are the clearances you get with 115mm. i dont think i will be getting 113 nor spacers on hub. i looked at my nagasawa's chainset clearances and they look the same.
-
• #49
Yeah that looks about right. Tbh I don't know why I thought 115mm was so long. I think mine is like 120mm. Sorry bout that.

Really looovely frame, nice pics too!
Black stem to go with headset maaaybe?
With high flange hubs they'll make for a very strong wheel set for sure. I'm just not sure a 23mm tyre will go on them. You'll need definitely wider tyres and that means you might have problems with clearance.
For shallower rims you should look at tubulars one I suppose.
