  • Non super rigirous tests show;
    charging Garmin is 4w
    powering lights is 4-5w

Think I can live with that.

  • Skinny, your cast-off groupset is lovely on my bike you'll be glad to hear, so thank you very much :-)

  • I almost feel ashamed of how ugly this is now.

    Function.

  • no! mate your riding across a continent, anything is allowed.

    ...

    well, yes vs. this:

  • Ugly equal much aero.

  • Ugly? No.

    "Brutalist", no?

  • Looks better here.
    Also done.

  • Such function! Looks much more dialled, great set-up. How's the training going?

  • Building into it. But getting the miles in!

Interesting to note that with an extra 10kg over the rear wheel I could really use the rear brake. Normally I can only half use it or the wheel locks up. But with the saddlebag on I could apply it without the front and it wouldn't lock.

  • That make sense.

Still locking my back wheel on the front load bike annoyingly.

  • Don't really need back brake to be fair. Front disc is enough stopping power alone. Back just helps to modulate stopping.

  • Bike rocks.

  • My bike is ready, pics tomorow on my topic

  • My fav' tcr bike setup

  • Who needs a mountain bike to ride dirt roads.

  • You do James, you do.

  • How much weight do you have in the seatbag? It looks huge, are you not afraid of destroying the seatpost or frame?

  • 5kg inc bag. I just don't bother to squish everything. Just lazy and push it in and do it up.

And no not worried at all. I'm only 70kg anyway. So the saddle and post can take a lot more.

@edscoble no punctures. 1 pinch flat but my fault hitting a rock at 30mph.
Not a single puncture in 3000 miles on front tyre. Replace rear before I came away.

  • been hanging in Vicenza for a few days to try unload some fatigue, I'm pretty tired and let some erm things heal.

Tomorrow I'll watch the finish on the madonna. Then set off to cover 1000miles in 3 days. 3 is the aim! But we'll see, the Alps are hilly. Should be good training.

  • Then set off to cover 1000miles in 3 days

    Wut? WUT?

You haz beard and sleeps in bus shelters now? #closetaudaxer

  • Wow! You're living the life I'd like to live if I'd done things differently.
    Mega kudos to you.
Off to follow you on Tumblr.

  • Well, you seems to be trained

  • You know, I regret nothing. But I wish I smoked less, drank less, partied a little less and found cycling 5 years before I did

So much this. Now if I could just quit biscuits as easily as I quit smoking I'd maybe find some true form.

  • Keep posting links to your tumblr in here. I don't have an account so can't subscribe but I really enjoyed reading those. Good luck with the epic 1000miles!

  • Hey. What do you eat in distances like TCR to avoid hypoglycemia?
