If I want to store my 3 bikes outside am I best going with something like the asgard? Or to save a bit of money and have more general storage space, would a regular wooden shed with a ground anchor and a massive chain be ok? I don't live in a particularly high crime area but bikes being stolen out of sheds etc isn't unheard of.

Whatever storage unit I used I'd look to have a massive chain and a ground anchor anyway.
I have a Trimetals bike store and that's been broken into once, but the thieves stopped when they saw the bikes inside were all chained up with a ground anchor and massive chains (Almax Immobiliser III).

Cool, for some reason I couldn't see the picture on the machine I used yesterday, fine on this one.

Think I've found the answer. That would be perfect. And a good price. http://www.shedsworld.co.uk/p/Yardmaster_6.5ft_x_3.9ft_%281.98m_x_1.19m%29_Metal_Pent_Store_Shed.htm

just finished setting up the point wall hanger and it's all I needed! Just got to put a transparent adhesive where the wheels touch so it doesn't stain the wall.

You could fit 4 bikes in that space ..
-
• #458
but you wouldn't be able to see them in such a nice way.

you could fit something like this. Looks very neat.

yeah, after all was done I though about that :-/
4 I wouldn't say but definitely 3.

What if you come in from a wet ride? Do you leave the bike somewhere to dry before hanging it up there?
-
• #462
Nah, that's only for the Sunday/display bikes, the workhorses don't deserve that, despite how valuable they might be..

Anyone know of something similar to this available?

seen plenty lateral one's. I think Halfords do one.

Yeah seen lots of vertical ones. The kickstarter for floaterhoist never took off, although their site says they're expecting new stock mid 2015, looks like they sold out on amazon as well. It's a neat solution. I might pick up a bunch of vertical ones and see if I can fashion something similar.

I've got a Clug surplus to requirements, anyone need one? Few quid cheaper than RRP. White outer, black inner.

I'll take it, is it in really good condition?

Anyone got someone in to lay a shed base for them before?
-
• #469
Yep, got a firm called Anglia Paving to do it at the same time as they laid the parking area down the side of the house. Probably not useful information for anyone in London's Famous London though - as the name suggests Anglia Paving are flatlanders.

any idea of the rough costs for an 8'x6' base?

Gravity bike stands, recommendations? Sturdy?

Does anyone have any of the pedal hook mounts lying around?
-
• #473
They don't meet with the approval of the interior decoration committee so I've got basically a box of those going spare.
dammit does but technically I have dibs ;)

Thanks!
Does anyone know how I could check that a wall can take the weight?
Works well, I posted a picture further up the tread. Just grabs the tyres so no damage to the rims. If you have ultra thin tyres and carbon rims it probably will leave mark over time though.
