Picked up some bars to have a go on this, sourced the bars from one person and the pads from the other and I think they match. Also want to get rid of the benotto at some point, its horrible and annoying -

Probably black tape will be the best here... Cinelli 2a is looking good!

Just please don't bring back orange.

@breso gonna put a white disc on the rear soon, once the rally on the ambrosio dies from skidding etc. so im thinking some silva/ultec tape like this maybe? -
@hhc the orange with the fluidisk kinda goes but im keeping the moser bars for something in the future, I think it suited the champagne gold well?

It wasn't that bad just IMO was a bit bright to go with the subtler gold of the frame. At least that was it didn't look like a poor colour match though (I think if the orange was a dull orange it would have been too close yet too far from the gild of the frame).
Love how this came from such humble beginings to something so nice.
If I may:

New bar angle like +1

Trust, was humble but in a bit of a state. I think its come far and dont think the evolution of it will be stopping just yet. Got a Cinelli saddle bag for jokes, in matching'ish shade of blue for some final shots of it in benotto blue mode. Gonna wait for that to arrive to photograph and then start on retaping the bars, tape on a tub to the FIR Halley and have fun brklss on it for a bit ;-)

I think this is a stupidly long winded idea but, was thinking to buy some Campagnolo shamals in track version for £400, split the hubs and sell the rims, then search for clincher shamal rear and front 650c rim? Would have to sell the Mavic front, Campagnolo low flange track rear and some No$ clincher Wolber rims to fund this though. Is this stupidly long and not worth the effort or will I be able to break even at least? wheelbuilding cost etc. Would only maybe need new spokes on the front 650.
What do people think as its stupidly late and cant really think. One thing that is putting me off is that everyone has shamals..

It's morning here so. Would look really good. Think you'd be out of pocket, struggle to break even doing it that way. I've seen a couple of set come up for sale 700c/650 for bout the same as. Old vento sets even cheaper.

This just arrived in the post from germany -
Now to take off the clip on bottle holder on the frame for cleaner lines to photograph, win/win :-)

Changed the cockpit and wheelset. ITM Citta di Bassano stem in 100mm and pursuit bars x FiR Halley System double discs with matchy matchy continental gumwalls. Also taped it with some rowdy Silva bar tape but don't really like it.. it doesn't match the bar/stem combo colourwise, but its much more comfy than the benotto 'rimtape'. Also brake lever is now a Carbon Sugino 75 one, again doesnt really match but meh.. -

Any ideas on what bar tape might suite these stupidly loud wheels would be great.. Im thinking neutral grey -
Proper pics for a proper bike, well done H!
