I went for the Croix de Fer in the end. My heart sank when I saw the massive hole in the box but the guy at the courier encouraged me to open it up and have a good look at it as it would be easier to reject. Top marks for APC couriers for not being knobs. Anyway the frame is unscathed and much better looking in real life than in photos.
I'm really pleased with CNC as well. The money got to them on Thursday or Friday last week and my wheels are here with me from Germany now. Last time I got the LBS to do it it took that long and I sourced the parts. I have realised I've forgotten rim tape though.
