  • Now would be too much to ask you to ask advises on how to dress on such a well designed jewell and then post pictures of yourself dressed with the final outcome?

Face included would be much appreciated.

  • Er, wut?!

It's just a bike, I just ride it. Doesn't require anything special except for footwear with Atac cleats.

  • And a bag on your head.

  • I wanted to get back to that feeling on the bike. Where the commute isn't done on auto-pilot, and where it's fun and exhilarating again. All of the benefits of utility, the creature comforts of panniers, racks, gears, etc... they to some extent diminish part of the act of experiencing.

I had something like this recently. I stopped commuting on the utilitarian cx/tourer/commuter, starting riding brakeless again and learnt to do wheelies on my track bike, all smiles again when I ride these days even though I am sure plenty of people think I am an idiot. Doesn't stop me enjoying having a functional bike when doing audaxes or road rides etc.

  • What matters is not what people think but what you are.

  • Predominantly Hydrogen, Oxygen and Carbon.

  • Anyhow, new page needs a photo:

  • So fixie

  • Incase you need a spare wheel set...

  • This has relly put pressure on to finish new bike in one week. I cant roll up on a beater.. so. shiney.

Maybe I will just give a clean..

EDIT - those ebay wheels look weirdly good now. must be something wrong with me.

  • You can so roll up on a beater.

It's a week away, in that time this Brother may be a beater.

  • Are you going to be putting gold drops on it?

  • No.

Aside from the hubs, stem and seat post, the plan is to keep other components in their natural state (silver).

The brake lever is the thing that broke this rule, but that also isn't permanent.

  • ah ok.

You just had me looking at gold nitto track drops. I had an undying urge to buy them.

I don't even have a track bike any more.

  • Gold is tough, as is white... a little too much and it just looks terrible.

What saves this build is the black, on the Brother logo and typeface, the saddle and grips.

I did think about the drops... but would only do that if I didn't have any other gold, except perhaps for the stem.

  • Just goes to show that matching gold components is a massive ball-ache. Maybe a fade paint job would ease the transition from the seatpost/stem to the hubs. But don't mind my opinion, I hope you have a blast riding it!

  • Who was it that had the gold Fuji waaaaaay back in the early forum days

Black one off fuji, gold parts, front hub brake as it wasn't drilled if I remember right.

  • Sounded familiar until the hub brake bit

  • This thing is awful.
Hope it makes you smile :)

  • It's terrible, absolutely terrible.

    It makes me grin.

  • What it would transform it in ace is having a chance to have it featured on The Clivegraph.

Is Friday, I think, when the paper boy drops a copy of that goodness.

    @cliveo for submissions

  • with the year 2007 in the head it looks great.

  • I have no idea what these words mean, but as searching leads me to the Football thread and it's a term only you use and you do so in a slightly derogatory fashion... am I to assume this is your attempt to troll this thread? Do you have such a short memory that you cannot recall what I do to trolls?
