  • Sounds like the start is pretty full on today, 20 kms covered and the break still isn't established. Contador must be praying the right mix of riders gets up the road pronto.

  • Even if the break goes, Orica have got a group of 4 diesels who will just sit on the front all day and reel it in, probably with help from BMC

No way Bertie makes it to the end of this stage, 260km of racing with hills and bearing in mind how much he climbs out of the saddle, with an arm that can't put a jersey on?! Good luck

I reckon it'll be a hilly sprint, Gilbert will try and go early, be followed by a few and then call it a day, then a race between Matthews and Lobato, then Felline coming with a late charge

  • Oh really? A confirmed Fascist was he?
Coppi's war seemed mostly sort of kind of ok - he avoided the worst of the fighting by being Coppi, and had a smother time as a POW because one of the camp commanders was a cycling fan and got him training again. I think I've remembered that right.

  • Like all events in Italy, there are many versions of who did what, but Magni was part of a Fascist militia that were responsible for the massacre of Valibona.

  • Urgh. How terrible. War is a fuck.

  • fascinating stuff....

  • I done read his road to valour.
    would recommend.

  • Race is currently 30 mins behind the slowest predicted schedule. It's going to be a long day in the saddle.

  • Not sure i'll be able to watch it today; is the race being respectful to the injured maglia rosa then?

  • 54km I believe.

  • I just turned it on. They're riding very (lol) slow - 35km/h I think I heard - but there's also a head wind.

  • Nice to see a filthy doper getting a win under his belt.

  • We had this yet? Just watch the first minute or so.

  • I went to Camden and bought a yo-yo, then I had a Subway and saw Bill Bailey live. Did I miss anything more exciting than that today?

  • Yeah, Cav has won me over. That is incredibly sweet.

  • LFGSS alumni TaoGH beating Dreamy PeterK by a couple of seconds and positions on the Tour Of California GC this evening. He's 11th overall

  • I am excite for today. Should find out if Contador is genuinely okay.

I'd like to see Aru or Porte attack him. It's a bit early in the race but it might be their best chance before he recovers.

  • LFGSS alumni TaoGH

    'Alumnus'. 'Alumni' is the plural.

    He's 11th overall

    Wow. Well done, Tao.

  • Closing sprint from yesterday looked killer. Sprinting up a shallow climb after 7 hours... eugh. They should get paid for doing that.

  • Just saw SRAM had tweeted re. Tao hovering at 11th but failed miserably to find a GC published anywhere.

5 years years ago he was drag sprinting on Hackney Marsh with us :) (15 secs in)

  • Praise be! A list!

  • Is there a daily Giro summary anywhere?
I quite liked the one hour vuelta summary ITV did last year.

  • Another victory for MPCC
