• You wouldn't avoid VAT buying from Germany as it's in the EU, they'd just charge german VAT. When i looked a while ago the price in Euros on the Nomos website worked out about £400 cheaper than the £sterling price, but that might have been a particular low point for the euro so that could change.

I agree it does sound like a good saving, there is just something weird about how Iconic say an unworn watch is "recently purchased new and purchased by us without having been worn" but then if it comes with all the right docs, perhaps I'm just being overly cautious. I was only looking at this on bonus day anyway and that isn't for a few months, so if you go for it let me know how you get on

  • Damn German VAT!

    the email from them...

We don't have the watch in stock however we would order one on your behalf from NOMOS Glashutte authorised dealer, it would of course be brand new with all box and papers and the full NOMOS Glashutte international warranty. The paperwork will be dated when the watch leaves the authorised dealer which is typically less than 7 days before you receive the watch. All our watches are bought from authorised dealers within the European Union, warranty card and papers are all stamped by AD. All our watches come with a lifetime authenticity guarantee.

You can wait until we have one in our shop again or you can follow the below link to leave a 20% deposit and secure the next NOMOS Glashutte Metro 1101. We can have it delivered to you in 2-3 weeks.

We have them coming in but then going out to clients who placed deposits so deposit would be the quickest way to receive this watch.
If you are ready to go ahead, please follow the link below to leave a deposit and place your order.

    i'll do it

  • I was looking to buy something from Nomos but was put off by the £ price being much higher than the Euro equivelent, but AFAIK this is due to differential pricing by Nomos rather than being due to tax, duty, VAT etc.
