Timing right for me, but I was (unusually) fixed today because rain. They're practically indistinguishable though. And yeah, was feeling pretty dapper. Sorry I missed you! Didn't hear a thing and was focussing on getting through the rain.

Aha, still a damn sight faster than me!

You got to your destination then?
-
• #70581
yes, it's coplestone rd > bellenden > chadwick > lyndhurst way. coming back is almost identical but holly grove instead of chadwick. 10000 x more pleasant than rye lane (tho i never get any sweet SE spots, cryerrytime)

Also: Lyndhurst Way = worst road surface EVAH!
-
• #70583
hahaha it's so awful! it's shit right up until the magical border between peckham and dulwich upon which it transforms into dreamy smooth tarmac

Very quick chat with one of the Morvelo guys on the OKR, morning!
And a rather over worked @OneLessCardigan on Trafalgar sq, hope you have a relaxing weekend dude :)

Cheers. It was that Chadwick / Holly Grove thing that was defeating me I think.

Our local councillor, Mark Williams, seems switched on to cycling, a bit. Peckham Peculiar has notes from some meeting where they fielded a few questions from twitter - one of which was my question about making Peckham better for cycling. It was broadly positive, in a slightly wishy washy way.

Certain tyre damage if skidding on Lyndhurst! Also the most impatient drivers in the area.
-
• #70595
Haha, I knew we were going to do that. Police put me on edge anyway but I also have an irrational fear of spooking a horse on the road if I cycle past it and it reacts by kicking me off my bike (in the face) or trampling me (in the face). I didn't want to hang around.

Police horses are trained to deal with crowd control, they're the calmest horses in the world.
I can't vouch for your average field-dwelling, apple-munching nag, mind
-
• #70597
Oh yeah totally, they can shrug off a firework chucked in their general direction like it was a water balloon, the irrational part is the horse just taking a general dislike to my presence and just giving me a quick slap. Like this vid but less funny, for me anyway, especially if it was in the face.

A sort of Carmen Miranda job?

The confusion on your face was priceless :).
Feel 98% confident I saw @6pt cruising down Great Dover Street about 630. If so you were looking v flash. I was standing by the side of the road and as you passed I slowly, pathetically said 'do a skid' at the same time as I was admiring your geared bike.
