You don't get any fitter (or faster) on the sofa.
No route, no gizmos. Just go run steady see what happens.
Get someone to drive you 10k from home, with nothing but your running kit, you'll soon want to run again.
Or take you to the safari park and get out the car in the lions enclosure.
