  • Someone's confused:

Messaged Daniel Oss who said when he was at Cannondale he rode a 58cm SuperSix with a 14cm stem, slammed, and he's 190cm. Jeez.

  • Would ride/skid.

  • It is properly difficult to get that sleeve in and out of a Cannondale BB

  • i just bough the full caad10 headset as the integrated topcap hex was starting to become rounded anyways and that was £20 on its own.

  • Made a few upgrades on my CAAD 8 and finally got round to de-stickering the RS31's.

Fair weather tyres, Planet X Ti skewers, Koolstop pads and a Lewis Hamilton gold chain for speed

  • My CAAD10 is for sale. It's 54 and I love it. But space, and life mean it's got to go...
SRAM red/ force/ rival. £750... Pm me for details.

  • Project completed... Greetings from Helsinki to fellow Cannondale enthusiasts!

  • The elusive yellow headshok boot

  • Had this a little while but never shared it here, very proud to be a member of the club

A friend just got a NOS one from a year or two later than mine, it's an absolute beaut. I'll try to take some pics of it this weekend and report back

  • Dem CAAD7s. Probably the best looking of the modern 'dale alu output I reckon.

  • I'm moving to shimano and wanna know what people suggest to use in the bb30 shell for 24mm shimano cranks? I've seen praxis and wheels mfg make a full conversion bb. Anyone used these?

  • Yep, right now I wouldn't trade it for anything more modern. My mates one (not sure if it's a 7 or 8) is even nicer, (not the paint but) has bladed s bend seat stays

  • I've got the Praxis, works really well

  • 'dale feels so stiff and good without a load (fnar), even with flat pedals... tempted to build it into a beater roadie and search for another commuter.

  • I use a sram red BB30 with wheelsmfg adapters. Haven't ridden it in a downpour yet, but 1500km so far on the wheelsmfg and not a creak. Did 2000km on that on a different adapter, FSA EE085, and also no creaks.

Use whichever one looks good enough to you.

  • Ah cool, I thought those adapters could only be used in the bearings. Didn't realise you can use them in a dedicated bb30 bb. would only need to replace the bb which is half the price of praxis. Thanks!

  • Nope, complete silence. It's been in two very heavy downpours (so heavy it drowned my Garmin) but not a peep from the BB

  • Yup, press in the bearings, count out the amount of spacers you need, ditch the bb30 "cover" (the one that has sram etc written on it). Press in adapters with your hands, slide crank in and install.

Note that for shimano cranks, as you set the preload using the NDS preload bolt you don't need the wavy washer that comes in the bb30 kit. For sram cranks obviously the wavy washer is needed.

  • Awesome. Thanks all. Decisions decisions!

  • It's worth considering 30mm spindled cranks like Rotor 3D+, Hollowgram etc.

  • $$$$

  • If you don't have Shimano cranks already, rotor or hollowgrams second hand are good value. In terms of stiffness to weight and price 6800/9000 are the best cranksets out there.

  • Pair of Hollowgram SLs with a wired SRM and all the gubbins went for £200 on ebay the other day.

    £200.
