Would like £2200 for it really, the replacement for it (which I personally don't like as much) is £3950 retail

£22.00 seems reasonable.

Do you have a suggestion?

Seiko Pics... So I found the original email receipt. It was bought from UK watch sale for £179 - 2 years ago. I could be way off here but I'd sell for £100. It's in nearly perfect condition. The crystal has 3 tiny marks on it, which is a testament to Hardlex as it has been worn every day.

well it's a combination of lots of things of course, but an ETA 2824 has a brilliant balance of durability, accuracy and beauty of engineering imho, i have 8 watches all with 2824 based movements! (and the same amount of quartz watches which i treasure equally @DethBeard)

that sounds very reasonable, i'm still lusting after a nomos metro - maybe christmas pressies to myself if i can sell a bike or something

Actually depending on condition and if you have all boxes / tags / etc. minty ones are picking up anything between £1800 to about £2000 so you're not far off the money.

Thinking I might go for one of the new ceramic bezel submariners, 114060, no date natch. Not definite yet but leaning that way.

The new LG smartwatch. Actually looks like a watch but it's a fair size

I went and had a look at the Apple watch the other day and it's awful IMO
Not user friendly in it's interface at all, nothing like the iPad/iPhone in being able to just pick it up and use it regardless of whether you ever have before

What about all the divs walking down the road trying not to fall over as they applewatch?
Send to solve a problem that didn't exist to me. Can't they just do something nice, like make their phone batteries last 3 days

There was a woman on the train yesterday using one to exchange dirty messages with someone not very subtly - she seemed to be getting on with it ok, probably the most productive thing I've seen a smart watch do.

My friend has a very old, very dead Rolex which is sentimentally valuable. I believe from the 1930s. Alsal said mechanism is not repairable, it has bad water damage, and they didn't seem very positive about finding an alternative mechanism to replace it, and advised that even putting a quartz movement in would be hard due to the pins on the rear of the face if i recall correctly.
In short I think he didn't think it would be possible to do the job to a standard that he would be happy to see leave his workshop, which I respect. But someone must be able to do it - any suggestions? Anyone done anything similar?
In the end, if the watch works and can be worn again (bonus if waterproof), the internals are not so important in this instance....

They might be worthwhile trying to identify the movement calibre, and then find a donor. If it's an oyster case, then the pendant tube and crown could be worn which is a pain in the arse to repair.

Anyone fancy buying this from me?
I think it's a bit too similar to my Oris to justify having
Got the steel bracelet too
