Not a weenie but claimed frame weights vs. actual are proper lolz aren't they; reviews of Bowman Palace frames all claiming 1150g for 56cm vs my actual 52cm at 1385g is a pretty big margin of error.

How are you finding the Palace? I'm pretty tempted to build one up as a homage to growing up in that area and I also think they look badass. Have you got a pic of the build?

Wait what?

Looks like it's got great potential! Maybe some carbon cages ;)
I almost pulled the trigger on this the other day but it's a touch too bighttp://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=201342903325

I recently bought a Rose Xeon RS frame set, to replace an Alibaba carbon frame. Straight swap of parts and the difference is very noticeable. In a good way, so far, but haven't gone on a > 3hr ride yet. I chose the Rose over Bowman for the included stem and seatpost, and I liked the look of the skinny seat stays.
The 2013 model is on clearance and keeps getting cheaper.

Hey all,
I'm in the process of finding a decent single speed off-the-shelf bike for commuting. Nothing too fancy, in a £400-500 range also potentially having Cycle2Work scheme in mind. So I'd be very thankful If you could post any suggestions for a specific model/make here. BLB? FOFFA? No Name (probably not)? State Bicycle? I'm 6'4 btw which doesn't help :)) Thanks in advance.

I really like that Bowman Palace!
Hey, does any of you know the best mudguards for Dolan Preffisio? Tyres are 25mm Gatorskins and the wheels are Fulcrum 3s.

Best £1000 bike I can get for my mate on the biek to work scheme? Roadie douche-ing him on a budget.

WOW!!! Great Deal!

All of those numbers look wrong.
-
• #6717
It's the wrong number, Planet X are notorious for not having the correct geometry shown (they claim their pompano have steeper seat tube yet geometry show 72.5 degrees).

has anyone seen or tried out a planet-x london? might be worth a go and fingers crossed its my size..
-
• #6719
Well, yes and no. It's a SuperSix, not an Evo, and it's Tiagra. 105 versions tended to go for about £1000 end of season a year or two ago, but they had pretty lame paint, whereas this model actually looks nice.
Not many better ways of getting in to roadie douche crabonz though at budget prices.

Quite liking this:
Always liked Ritchey stuff - anyone have experience with the Road Logic 2?

Even more like. Start saving...

Nothing special IMO .. if you want nice steel instead of paying import duties and 'brand value' just save up for a Talbot.
The breakaway on the other hand has a purpose but then again nothing that Matt cant build.

Good point - but it's not that crazy - about £650 inc a decent full carbon fork. I'd love to commission a Talbot but I'm pretty sure it'd be double that at a minimum and I'm not sure Tom Ritcheys frames have ever been brand whores, certainly not like Specialized or Cannondale. Not that it actually matters. Brand value is important to a degree - Talbot itself is becoming a brand, and Matts frames certainly carry a value (handmade, quality, bespoke etc.) beyond the material. Don't be so fast to dismiss it as a bad thing!
Mostly it's another cool steel frame that appears to been designed very well.

I agree on that, his frameset is unique on that respect.
