  • Hope you washed your hands before coming back to your computer.

  • before he 'logged' on you mean

  • hehe

  • The very definition of TMI :-)

    Good luck

  • To be fair, isn't Audax all about self sufficiency?

  • That's the night dose in, and not without a fight.

I've discovered something today. I thought I was quite open minded about the sexual spectrum but I now know I could never, ever be a "receiver" in a gay relationship.

I hope it doesn't dribble out on the ride and ruin my Brooks.

    Happy Friday.

  • The station cafe in Manningtree has just opened. After breakfast i will have a celebratory pint. 400k in 21.5h.

  • Enjoy that pint, Ludwig. You've definitely earned it.

  • So Severn Across?

I found it blowy on the way out.. My partner arrived slightly late so we never found a big group to ride in. Fueling worked well though. Felt like packing in at Chepstow at 4pm because it was so late t carried on. Glorious 4 hours from the bridge until it got dark, then a bit of a struggle home. Not really sure what time we finished but somewhere around 22 hours for 415km.

Ash, lovely to see you again. Hippy, was that you on a planet x bike or did I just never see you.

    Lessons Learnt

    1. I need to go quicker
    2. I need to start on time
    3. I need to read the route ahead of starting
    4. Learn how to "unlock touch screen" on Garmin
    5. Have better lights

Right, I'm off to sell my bike and take up basket weaving.

Organisers were fantastic and cheese toastie at the end awesome

  • Good effort mate.
    Got in around 5am.
    No sleep for me.
a few in my group needed some kip.

  • Very nice. So windy on the way out wasnt it?

  • Yeah a tad.
I feel quite good at then end.
    First 400k done.
34x28 was just enought to get up all the hills.

  • I was on a (currently very filthy) PX Stealth TT bike, yes. I rode out from home and started late (again) so probably rode by at some stage, unless you were very late starting?
I only ever recognise a couple of people though - Ray, Mike from WCC and Frank from Westerley.
Harder work than I expected, that. I'm pretty battered today.

  • Yep, saw you, you said Hi. You wouldn't recognise me (though I was wearing a dapper forum Jersey).

Likewise, harder than I expected, I think because of the wind and my riding partner not really being on form so we rode slower than I would have liked, meaning I was awake for longer than optimal given how much I need my beauty sleep.

  • I did?! I forget. Whereabouts? I don't remember seeing any forum jerseys (shark pit jersey?)

  • ^ Is that an actual camera shot? Looks like someone painted it. Lovely.

  • That's an actual Nexus phone-camera shot by an actual god-like Australian... ;)

  • Tell him that's a lovely shot :-)

  • Don't really remember. Must have been early on as we were a bit late starting and you were later still :-)

One of the new jerseys, and a black long sleeve baselayer underneath it.

My Garmin basically took me through a field in the dark :-)

My bike was dirtier than it has ever been.

  • Still not ringing any bells - sure it was me?

I did some selfies on the bridge too.

  • You only replied to a Hello. Could have been someone else on a PX bike

    Doing a 600?

  • Yeah, Beast helpers ride on Sat.

  • Well done to all you guys who did the Severn Across today. Sounds pretty full on.
