For commuting 32 is fine...
Some nice rims without silver track come in 36... Archetype for one, Velocity Chukker NMSW, TB 14, A23, Open PRO CD... in fact pretty much all rims come in 36... maybe not the more expensive tubeless rims for CX.
The CL 25 is a bit of a lightweight... I have built a set... good for CX racing, less so for what you want to do.
