A friend of mine has a Master X-Light with Chorus 8-speed. Largest sprocket is 23. Is it possible to get an 8-speed cassette with 28T sprocket? Largest I can see is 26.

I think 26 may well be the largest cog in 8 speed although i'm not certain about that.
Perhaps your friend could get a 26t rear cassette and go to smaller chainrings at the front if hills are proving to be a problem.

Thanks for that - Plan B was to fit a compact chainset with a 26. Hills are indeed proving to be a problem, and I am mailing from Cambridge!...

In my case old age and a love for red wine is proving to be the problem.

Got a mate who is after a 90s steel Colnago in size 54cm. He isn't in a rush, just looking for the right one at the right price if anyone sees something suitable.

I have a 28 tooth sprocket on the dura-ace 8 speed cassette on my Colnago Tecnos. Handy for the hills here in Cornwall, so yes, you can get them...

Thanks for that. Now chasing up to find someone with the 13 - 28 in stock. Will post up if the one we are chasing actually has it in stock for delivery.

Bear in mind that you may need to purchase a new chain for the extra length if you're going to make a jump from 23 to 28.

quite an interesting piece, given the lugging and clover stamp, shame not a master mtb though, and the over decaling

Saw this a few weeks ago on ebay. It sold through a buy it now but then the sale must've not gone through. I could have sworn it was only £175 back then but I could be wrong.
Definately agree with saarf that it's a bit overdecaled. I was tempted then as I've got a nicely spec'd Specialized of what I guess is a similar age that'd be a good donor but the more I looked at the paint job the more I thought it wasn't my taste.
Now like saarf said if it were a master in red then 'yeah baby' -

my old master mtb was red
the 'extra' decals on the tt and forks look like mid to late 70's
these are 90's colnago mtb's
here's one i used to have that cost 50 euros, and i had the green and blue one in the cat scan, also 50 euros
the lugging and the clover stamp indicate it could be late 80's early 90's, and could have potential interest for a 'collector', but in my opinion it's quite overpriced -
