• ... and he's back on the proper bike today..?

  • Nah on trike. But on the road.

    doing a 400k apparently

  • Whaaaat?!

  • You say? Will ask him for an autograph then.

Good to be on the open road again with tracks loaded on the @Garmin
    Still on the @icetrikes to try to ride a 400km @AudaxUK #wishmeluck

  • ..needs to get his qualifiers in for PBP..

  • Friday 8th May - 114.5 mi, 10:53:58 h, 4,016 ft

    cumulative - 18,887.5 mi, 64:21:08:29 d, 542,059 ft

triked it out to suffolk yesterday

  • What a legend. Endlessly inspirational.

  • Saturday 9th May - no update on Strava as he's midway through the Asparagus & Strawberries 400k

although audaxclubhackney has an unofficial 237km, or 147.2 mi for yesterday

    GO STEVE!!!!!!!!!1111111oneonety

  • He was back in Manningtree at 9am this morning, (the 400k ride had a deadline of midday).

Not quite sure what is going on with the tracker, it started today at ~5am with him in Saffron Walden. If that was a planned stop on his ride (and he got there before midnight) then he would have needed to have done the preceding 354km in 15 hours since the ride started at 9am.

Will have to wait for the Strava update.

[EDIT] Other places say he finished the ride all fine so I guess it was just an oddity of when the tracker flicks over to the next day (midnight US East Coast time?)

  • Steve is a loon. An absolutely smashing, ace, incredible loon. What a proper old school British hero. UKIP can shout all they like about their better-in-the-old-days-British-identity bollocks, but a chap like Steve makes one proud to live in this ridiculous nation.

  • Saturday 9th May - 185.9 mi, 17:23:13 h, 3,662 ft

    Sunday 10th May - 205.5 mi, 22:43:34 h, 5,558 ft

    cumulative - 19,278.9 mi, 66:13:15:16 d, 551,279 ft

couple of effin long days over the weekend, one legged at that..

    GO STEVE!!!

  • was the 400km on the trike, or is he back in a regular saddle?

  • Just noticed that Steve's HR average was 75 bpm for 330km - those Ice Trikes must be damn comfortable!

  • Go Steve!

Good graphic. I think that's actually my favourite way so far of showing the progress. It'll be interesting to see in what way, if any, Searvogel's curve will go up.

Why does Miles Smith not have a nickname? Because he doesn't need one. 'Milessmith' is quite brilliant all by itself.

  • He's not one legged any more. The cast came off a week or so ago and he did the 400k Audax with both legs.

  • Finally got back on top of https://goo.gl/RBHtiS

It looks like Kurt's overall MPH may be starting to level out, but his miles over target are still decreasing, and the weekly catchup on his rest day isn't now fully clearing the week ahead's backlog.

    Interesting times.

  • Monday 11th May - 18.6 mi, 1:26:56 h, 1,100 ft

    cumulative - 19,297.5 mi, 66:14:42:12 d, 552,379 ft

  • Good graphic. I think that's actually my favourite way so far of showing the progress.

  • Jo's visualisations are excellent (no great surprise given his job!), he's done loads of Audax related stuff too.

He did a great TEDx talk visualising Boris bike journeys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaRBUnO5PZI

  • Does anyone know what the two schedules for Steve represent? Is it pre and post injury or his original schedule versus his extrapolated schedule before he became injured

  • He had two schedules on his website, scroll down here:-
