I really hope that Cameron doesn't screw up the EU referendum like he almost did with the Scottish one.
Really not looking promising. -

This.
That Paul Mason piece summed up my thinking. Labour needs to stop thinking about the middle ground and start doing something more representative of the left.
Says the house owning middle class white man.23 out of 45 lost went to Tories.

I was growing to like Edd. He managed to persuade Russell Brand to vote for him.

They must be holding it back for a laugh.
-
• #635
Oh absolutely. It needs to actually stand for something again first, leading the party as it stands would be like trying to lead an uncooked fish.

But they lost it because they didn't appeal to middle England.
You can't win a majority in Britain without bringing middle England with you. Blair knew this, Labour have proved it in the last two elections.
Middle England saw Miliband as 'Red Ed' and wouldn't vote for him. As appealing as moar left is, it is not the answer.

now they've had validation for every shit thing they did last term they can really start implement the social cleansing they've only dabbled in so far.
This. Considering they've been "held back" until now.

This, going left will not get them into power.
But it will be a glorious failure.

12 million people voted left of centre. as of now. If we define loc as labour, lib dem, snp.
9 million voted for conservatives.electoral reform might help here.
of course the 3 million who voted UKIP might need some attention.
plus the 1 million green voters.that's 299 seats vs the 319.

I'd rather be out of power but have some fucking morals than a vapid, tory-lite, powerless waste of ballot paper.

Our planned flounce to Sweden is looking a lot more real now.

Maybe Middle England need to be taken on the Conservative Journey, one (chargeable) A&E department per county, no GP service, private refuse collection, private police forces springing up to replace the deprecated public police service, a choice of either fee paying education or an apprenticeship, and re-homed in the North of England if you don't have a job.
-
• #648
Put it like that and I'm in. Jeremy Corbyn for leader.
-
• #649
Thanet South is going to be coming up in the next half hour.
-

Wrong Miliband choice come back to haunt them maybe...
Grudgingly agreed that turning left doesnt seem to win Labour elections.
England more right wing at heart then, than Scotland or Wales? Seems that way.
You'd think Burnham...
