Mine is an old Crank Brothers aluminium mini-pump barrel. I filed the ends so that they match the radii of the aero-bars, which stops the bodged-bit from rotating. Very slightly wider than the internal bar pitch, so a snug fit.
Plenty of room for hands, and perfect for eye-line, easy viewing not too much neck movement needed.
Around 20 000 miles with it so far, confident secure mount.
Also shown are the Electron LED lamps under-slung.
Ah, no doubt, and I'd be better with those lights elsewhere, for sure . If I were to use shallow oval cross-section tubing for the cross strut, instead of circular, I guess that would help a lot.
