  • If only we had PR. Assuming that 6% is SNP, That would make for some interesting coalitions.

Grand (Con/Lab), obviously, but that would be only if nothing else works.
Traffic Light (Labour, Lib Dem, SNP, Green)
    Con/Ukip/Lib Dem

That would be fun to watch (but probably ultimately flawed, I don't think UK is ready for a German/Danish style many party coalition)

  • I think what's needed John is a new rule book. Know anyone who likes that kind of thing?

  • Like Plaid Cymru and DUP, SNP aren't a fully national party so I don't think they're represented in that split. Probably equal to LD but wouldn't be representative in overall outcome.

  • Minor panic just now when I realised we had postal ballots in our house.
Luckily you can just hand em in at a polling station.

  • As crazy as it sounds, I would like to see SNP stand in England. I think they have some interesting policies outside of the independence issue. I would consider voting for them.

  • Things that will probably happen as a result of this election:

    • scottish independence within 5 years
    • a referendum on Europe with a high possibility of exit
    • electoral reform

It seems to me that either or both of the first two will make Britain weaker and its people poorer. The last one might be good, or it could be a recipe for weak and innefectual government. It's bizarre to think how much will probably change over the next few years; maybe the end of an era that started in 1945. I'm probably being a Cassandra, but I can't help thinking a lot of us might look back and ask if things were really that bad.

  • Ps ^ probably makes me a small c conservative, despite the fact I've always voted Labour and will again tomorrow.

  • +all ukip voters, please.

  • Its only a general election .

  • I mean at least he's consistent. He's got a view point, and is sticking to it. He knows what he likes (cars) and what he doesn't (bikes). He's not pretending otherwise to try and gain cycling votes.

I can respect that, though I totally disagree with him.

  • ^ agreed. Cambridge is all a bit bikey and the stinking Tory candidate's letterbox propaganda goes on about how they like bikes and recycling, when we all know what they really like is raping the poor and hunting foxes and they don't give two fucks about bikes, they're just being populist.

  • In case anyone was in need of any motivation to vote the bastards out, a reprise of this would be great.

  • electoral reform

Cannot see that happening in the next 5 years, neither Labour or the Conservatives want it, and one of them will be the major party in whatever coalition we get. They can also point to the referendum a few years ago, which was a fairly resounding no, and continue to ignore the issue on that basis.

  • He reminds me so much of Sir Guy of Gisburne, as portrayed by the wonderful Robert Addie:

  • Now in danger of binge-watching the entire Robin of Sherwood in one go. I'll be humming that theme tune all day tomorrow.

  • There is only one Guy of Gisborne

  • are we allowed to talk about it ? or is it just mainstream media that are banned from discussing the e**ction

  • Nobody is banned from discussing the election. State supported media, basically the BBC, have a responsibility to remain politically neutral and balanced when reporting on it or providing a platform for political views and their discussion. That doesn't extend to all programming though and biased and unbalanced views can be portrayed in drama, entertainment shows and shows with a comedic and satirical style. The BBC usually adopts a policy of caution during purdah as do the other mainstream broadcast channels and radio. Obviously mainstream print media will continue to print any old shite in search of a quick buck.

  • please ensure you put up your voting selfies .... NOT

  • Dooo iiit.

Even spoiled votes have to be counted.
