  • Thanks @dancing james.

So yeah, bit gutted by this and not sure if it's worth putting in any effort to retrieve it or just let it go. It was nicked from Marshall street (close to Carnaby street) yesterday between 17.00 and 19.00.

The saddle is a black titanium Brooks personalised by @Skülly a few years ago with the word SPREE. Pic below from when it was brand new.

Any advice? Check out Brick Lane? Let it go?

  • Wow, one of my best stamps that^ looks neat!

@fourteen Sorry to hear it got pinched.

I ALWAYS recommend people let me stamp their postcode or phone number in the back of the saddle as nicknames are not a really easy way to track people down if the saddle is recovered. A while back the cycle task force contacted me with a stamped saddle done by me but I found it really hard to find out who I actually stamped it for, combing through PMs etc, to find a person who's forum name may not have been the name on the saddle, neither of which were their actual name.

There are social media places to post pics of stolen stuff, might be worth putting that and include a small stock pic of a whole swift too so people can see the shape of the saddle.

    Le sigh.

  • Long shot: Putting out a request to anyone in the Chelmsford area, Specialized Sirrus in black, totally stock parts as it had only been ridden twice, pinched from outside the station yesterday - was locked with heavy chain, found it cut.

Belongs to a Brazillian guy, collegue of mine just moved there, wanted a nice ride to the station before train to work, was really pleased - his mrs bought it for him as a present, for them a really big outlay of cash! He's totally gutted. Any tips to who might have it gratefully recieved.

    Thanks

  • Friend had his hike stolen outside of 90 Bar in Hackney Wick last night. It's a Fuji 1.2 Sportif in white and with orange. All stock parts except brand new continental tyres fitted to it during the week. If anybody spots anything would be really appreciated as we are due to cycle to Paris next weekend and that's the bike he was going to use.

This bike was stolen from us this morning. He took it for a test ride, left his old bike with us and didn't come back. He's dumpy, about 30ish, balding and could be described as annoying.

So, essentially, the whole forum is a suspect.

  • i got a fringe!

  • also, need vendors be wary of fat slapheads?

  • So, essentially, the whole forum is a suspect.

Except, perhaps, for that not insignificant number of members to whom one would not usually refer by means of the pronoun 'he'. :)

  • Stolen, tiny (45cm) black dolan track with deep section rear coaster brake wheel. Sometime over the weekend from an apartment block in Farringdon.

    Bought from the forum here

If anyone sees it please lock / message me!

No doubt it has been parted out by now....

  • The image you're linking to doesn't seem to be visible to everybody. Well, not to me and I don't think Google are blocking me from pics in general.

  • I am too technologically inept apparently and cannot make it work... now inserted a link instead

  • That's working now

  • thought I should put this here incase it was a stolen bike

  • Would be a bit of an odd choice for a commuter bike
    Stranger things have happened

  • Hey In dalston, hackney downs area ...Just had a guy come in with a beautiful orange track bike, badge on front was 'Ali' something, nice spearpoint lugs and fancy headtube lugs, with drops and black fsa chainset, odd wheels, fixed gun metal mavic back wheel, guy has just bought black risers to fit on it...He just bought it for £20 from his mates garden...and other likely stories...I'm pretty sure the guy is local so its around hackney downs.
    Please put the word out.

    Thanks!!!

  • some kinda cunt stole my brooks swift and campagnolo victory aero 25mm seat post

happened between 4-6pm today @ covent garden at the bike park racks by hsbc opposite tescos, racks were pretty much full and was street was busy with peds, maybe cunt wore bike gear as surly a smack/crack head in civvies using an allen key would stand out, doubly cuntish as 25mm aero campag post hard to find

  • i'm sad to hear thats happened @t.o. - I often pass through farringdon to and from work so I'll look out for it and deal out some kryptonite karma

  • yeah, me too. my friend was super happy with it, but clearly it was too cool...

thanks for looking out for it, you'll definitely recognise it at least!

  • Anyone missing a giant monocoque tt bike? Spotted this propped up outside a barbers in Peckham, seemed off, if I owned this I'd lock the shit out of it.

  • Not sort of bike to roll to barbers on. Late 90's retro cool Tri bike that is.

  • Seen this one a few times. The kid who rides it uses regular trainers and pops up kerbs.

Spotted it nearly a year ago, his pal was riding this

  • CAMBERWELL GREEN - 630pm LAST NIGHT

long story short, i was riding my mates bike, got jumped on at the lights by 2 undercover old bill, tried to ping but they got me.

get to the station, i ask where the bike is, they essentially laughed and went "oh that'll be long gone mate". all that to give me a caution for a 10 bag of weed.

here's the best description i have, but will get a photo up today too:

    yellow and black frame, 54/56cm
fixed with straps and plastics pedals.
the front wheel is a shiny dark red BREV one
the handlebars are mellow risers with knackered bar tape.
the seat is non descript but is ripped to shreds.

if anyone sees someone pedalling this around south east, anywhere from brixton to lewisham and beyond, please please let me know on here.

i'm going to go to all the local bike shops today to warn them, and then to the police station to file a report!!!

i'll buy it back if need be.

    cheers

    g

  • Quite dickish of them to just leave your private property to get nicked, surely they have a responsibility to impound all your possessions or at least log them.

Out of curiosity what did they originally nab you for? Why were you targeted?

  • Seen this one a few times. The kid who rides it uses regular trainers and pops up kerbs.

I've seen this guy around Peckham a few times too.
