Slightly off topic but thought I's give it a shot.
I've got a Stetson baker boy cap I got given for Christmas but its not really my thing.
May be of interest? They sell in Redwing for £85 but I'm asking for £50?Its the same as this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STETSON-BAKERBOY-CAP-HATTERAS-DONEGAL-BEIGE-BLUE-427-VIRGIN-WOOL-NEW-/361196202716

So did you find a shape that fits or have you simply forced your elephantine hooves into their slender envelope?

Nice leather/brand but not my cup of tea. Mind you you like them and your choice in shoemaker is on the money

I got some NOS grenson penny loafers for my father, and they are a bit small I think - size 6/f.
Anyone have similar and want to trade for a 7.5 or 7, preferably in a wider width ? I have more pics if you are interested, just pm me

I need some new brogues for my wedding so I'm thinking about some Loake Ashby in tan. I'll be wearing my kilt, but I'm not really a fan of ghillie brogues so I'm avoiding them. Also means I can get actual wear out of the shoes rather than bring them out a few times a year for an event.
What a lovely excuse to splash out.

Damn I'd forgotten about this and now I'm looking at Paraboots all over again.
@French_Touch you looked at Meermin bluchers or you after that specific Loake brogue?
-
• #4494
Theyre pretty nice but I like the ruggedness of the loakes for matching up with the kilt.

Any tips for breaking in shoes? I have a couple of pairs of office work shoes (one Barker Blake, one Loake 209) which are fine to start with but leave a few painful raw areas after a day of wearing. Is it worth persevering, any way to cut down on the pain whilst persevering?

How often do you polish them and what with?
Do you wear them on more than one day successively?
Do you use cedar shoe trees?
Never had to break a good pair of shoes in.

Heat from hairdryer, and hammer will help you break in areas.
Has anyone had any experience of having shoes made for them?
I just spent an hour in the Cheaney shop on Jermyn street, establishing beyond any doubt that none of their lasts are suited to my blunt and crude plates of meat.
