Looks ripe for mad boost?
Been trawling craigslist in all the deserty places in the states looking for a early 242 flat front flat bonnet or a <1974 145 with no rot (not sure if its still tax exempt when its an import though)/ 242 for cheap thrills redblock + boost AND/OR 145 for D5252t (what I drive every day and love) heavily modified daily driver diesel, shave bumpers, fix suspension, LSD + multi-link rear end to see 220-240bhp + 350lb.ft + 50mpg. Reckon it can be done for under £5k but totally hinges on getting a solid body. Everything in the UK is rotten or show car money.
Really love the 5 pot diesel, just the right mix between good noise and efficiency. Would love a D24tiC even more (old 6 pot inline VW van motor) but they just aren't as efficient or capable of significant power increase without £££ custom internals.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWAggNdMD2s
