would that result in a cancellation?
Will ride over there anyway, and have a look.
Aim to be there at about 6.10...

Only joshing. It was still good fun.
It wasn't a big margin, I didn't even catch you. S'nice that we were all quite closely matched.
I'm doing Cambridge's only hilly TT this evening which takes in the mighty 39m 5% climb of Chapel Hill, so I'm going on the road bike. I'm convinced the current Strava KOM is a bit cheaty as he's a full 10% faster than everyone else : http://www.strava.com/segments/chapel-hill-645815?hl=en-GB

Make sure you take enough gels.

Chapel Hill
I grew up in Haslingfield. I must have cycled up Chapel Hill over a thousand times.
(In a time long before mainstream cycling GPSes let alone Strava.)
I use to race my mate up there (and rarely ever win since he held, and may possibly still hold, the Cambridgeshire juvenile 10 and 25 TT records. I know he did a low 22 and sub hour 25 aged 15.)
[EDIT] I checked. F2Y10 23:02 aged 15, his juvenile 25 (unlisted course) was 1:03:56. These records still stand according to the website. His 22:38 on F2/10 (A45) and 59:46 on E3/25 were as a junior (16), records subsequently beaten.

No, but they will be observed and an RLJ will result in a DQ

Not to be tonight, despite being a smidgen up on power on last week the traffic lights and frankly not being quite as up for it due to being freezing at the start line!
Nice to catch my 1,2 and 3 minute men though especially as they were all club mates!
I realised that when I try to tuck my head down I can't see due to having the tall tail on my helmet so have switched that out, practical marginal gains!

1991 by the looks of it. That's a good long time to hold a record.

I'll definitely try and make it down for one or two. How often are you out on the Thursday TTs?

So far I've managed 3 of 4.

I know its just a club 10, but coming 4th two weeks in a row is a little frustrating!
Got my first 50 next week, will be doing it on Mavic Aksiums unless my Flo's arrive by some miracle so I've ordered some leg trips and velotoze in the hope of compensating a bit!
I'm working my way down, 100 last year, 50 this, so by 2017 I'll be onto Open 10s!

Strictly speaking, for you it's a private time trial and you were first out of one in your race. The Club 10 run at the same time was won this week by Danuta.

Well thats me told then, might have to join MDCC so i can claim the club win!
Startsheet through for the Charlotteville 50, looks like it starts on the opposite side of the road to the 100 on the same stretch of road, and wheels are now in flight, fingers crossed they get here in time, or i'm racing on training wheels!

The 10/25/30/50 starts are about 3 miles east of the 100 start. If you want a gentle 5 mile warm up, riding from the HQ up to the Coxbridge turn and back to the start is ideal, and you can have a look at the roundabout and spot any potholes to avoid during the race.

Alarm went off at 3:30am today so I could get to the Norlond 30mi and set a PB (never ridden a 30mi before). Took about 3.5hrs to get out there in the dark and pissing rain. Lovely! Pinned my number on and then heard there'd been a car crash on the course. Then one of the blokes said "it's officially cancelled for safety reasons". They were concerned with the crash and the spray on the road (A1). I was secretly happy because after a week in the Azores I would've probably damaged myself (more, I mean). So, cycled back and have been eating everything in sight since.. #csb

^3 1/2 hour drive and you rode home? Good resolve.
Looks like Tuesday will be my first test in strong wind, 2 X out and back, North - south with a 45mph southerly wind. Do I gear for the tailwind and struggle into the headwind or risk spinning out on the northern legs? Any advice appreciated. In the absence of wind I would have geared for a low 23'00" at 90rpm - 52x14.

Most likely he cycled out, too.
-
• #9269
I expect Hippy rode there and back, he's like that.
Go for a bit of both.
-
• #9270
Nah man, I rode there and I rode back. Return ride was slower (4hr) due to headwind and for that I apologise for my weakness.
-
• #9271
I find this sort of resolve unfathomable, let alone the 24 hour efforts. Rep.
I think I'll gear regardless of the wind, I reckon I'll struggle to turn a massive gear even with the tailwind if I'm recovering from a horrid churn on the way out.

Got the G3 back and Raltech'd the shit out of it.
Wonder if it's any faster/slower than the 808+Aerojackets?Anyone running Raltech covers have any install tips? Should I tape up the edge like I did with the aerojackets? There's not a lot of room for tape..

Whatever is fastest is best. Your current position doesn't look horrible, so if it's comfortable stick with it unless you're sure something else is faster.

Its super comfy. Needs a proper test mind...
Any TT's within easy reach of Putney this week?
Yep, apologies to @Hefty and @cjmiska for that. @Hefty beat me by a considerable margin, and @cjmiska was only a bit slower despite being on a 12kg bike with disk brakes. My chosen excuse is overtraining from the week in Gran Canaria the week before. And the usual excuses of being slow, old and fat.
