Yes it can probably be reset but a lot of other things will be reset.
If you decide to do a reset save your settings etc. first

My garmin no longer seems to know when I'm going up hill. Just shows 0.0 at point one today midway up a nice climb it was showing -4. Any ideas if this can be reset?
