Maybe not. I'm probably old enough to be her dad.

Not sure who I'm messing with now.

I suggest you all go to 4chan and fight internet sexism there
-
• #1906
so it's worse somewhere else?
this is my corner of the internet, not 4chan. -
• #1907
There comes a point where rational debate breaks down. I can't work out if people are in denial about their sexism, fucking ignorant or just sexists assholes and proud of it.
-
• #1908
I'm guessing that some of these posts might have been typed with a flaccid penis being flopped against a keyboard
That would explain the state of some of the keyboards in my office

The 'sexist shite' is in YOUR head, give it up you sanctimonious individual.
Yeah, keep telling yourself that
-
• #1910
My point is I think you're naming and shaming @Fignon pretty badly for what he has said. I agree with you that rating a female model like that is sexist, but you're crossing a line here. You're telling people that they're extremely ignorant sexist monsters because of a post on the internet that they might've made without thinking about social normative rules in reality. What someone says on the internet might be sexist, and you're completely in your right to say something about it, but the way that you're doing it just shows that you are just another internet bully who pretends to care about womens rights and integration but who is in fact just getting off on talking shit to people on the internet ;)

"without thinking about social normative rules in reality"
So are you saying it's OK to spout sexist crap because this is just the internet and people can post without thinking? Surely this is exactly what everyday sexism is, people with a "oh it doesn't matter what I say, I know I'm not really sexist" attitude.

• #1913
What amuses me is the fact that directly above said offending post was a similar post with a male model instead. Albeit without a rating out of 10, but in a similar vein. Don't see any white knights defending his honor. (That was a joke)
-
• #1914
The "beard, tats, sunnies" one? I took that as a comment on the pitiful lack of imagination on the part of ad agencies on what a cyclist looks like.
-
• #1915
I'm not implying it's OK at all. I am saying that it's completely natural for people to have a lower sense of what's supposed to be moral when they're on the internet. For an example look at @dancing james offensive namecalling which I believe he would not have done if he were talking to someone in reality who made a sexist remark without thinking about it.
-
• #1916
But he wasn't offensively name calling? He pointed out the puerile sexist shit thread, pointing out surely that the post was puerile sexist shit? I don't know James, he could be an ogre or a saint for all I know, I'm not a character witness for him, but calling out sexist shit seems absolutely fine to me.
-
• #1917
I'm just trying to illustrate that I'm not OK with the way that he's doing this. I understand that my 4chan post might be subject to misinterpretation. It's just that internet bullies vs internet sexists might be amusing.

Fair enough. I don't see that there is much other way of doing it other than calling it out, but hey ho. We seem to agree that the sexist shit can >>>>> anyway. I'm off to do something more useful. Have a good weekend

There is indeed a fine line between calling someone out for something, and jumping on any old reason to attack people. The twitter lynch mob can be a horrible thing when it goes off slightly wrongly. I guess the basic thing everyone will eventually learn, though, is to think before hitting the post button.
-
• #1921
There's zero tolerance on sexism on here, anyone toeing the line will be called out on it pretty strongly. If being called out on it hurts your sensibilities, then fuck off somewhere else.
EDIT.

I'd give it one...

If you have to tell people it's a joke you're doing it wrong. #protip
@Fignons post was crass, didn't parody Oliver's successfully so wasn't funny and yeah expressing your boner regards the model isn't interesting, is mildly sexist and just makes the place feel more blokey than is desirable. @dancing james is doing us a favour calling him out on that, even if James
isseems sometimes rather pompous.Right who'se next...
I'd fuck her.
