that looks a lot of fun! Are you based near Glasgow perchance?
I'm still tinkering with my Denton (KoM)... Bar end shifter mounts have cracked (campag) so need to try and 3D print some new ones, which will be interesting and maybe even fun?

I'm actually near Dundee, did the photo's from Wheelcraft / Crow Road have you thinking I was Glasgow based?

Oh. Yeah bit underwhelming. Also 700c really does not look very nice on small frames.
Really really like those fork crowns though. -

I've never seen any others either-they're pretty spesh! Mine's a re-badged Mercian and I got the full bike for 160 beans, with C-Record wheels that were sold and almost paid for the rest.
In several different configurations it's since taken me from Siena to Grenoble, through the depths of two Swedish winters and over most of Scotland so it was a good investment! There's some bad photos here, http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/227422/#comment9445475 and it currently looks pretty different so once I've finished tinkering will post some more...

They did indeed, my regular stomping ground as it were-my maw lives out by the Campsies.

Yep, apparently Denton used Mercian builders. Whether those were in-house Mercian guys or well regarded local builders that built for a variety of shops I don't know.
Mine was really lovely with loads of trademark touches of a good builder like lugs filed thin etc. I should have kept it.

My father's after a road bike - he's had a Specialized something-or-other hybrid for a few years but wants something quicker and more sporty - also his mates go on a lightweight road tour in Europe every summer and he wants to join them. I think he'll be better off with something that can handle the odd bike path and bridlepath too.
He's looking at an Allez but I think it's a bit racy - any recommendations for a practical roadie around the 500 quid mark? 28c tyres ideal.
I have seen this, but I think he might be after something a bit quicker and probably more modern-looking.

That looks jolly good. Check out the New CDA from Genesis too but it's probably out of budget?!

What about one of those blue ribble winter bikes?
