For bearing removal, use a bearing puller, tutorials on teh interwebz on how to use:
2rs suffix means both sides of the bearing have a rubber seal, so will keep dust out, they look up to the job

Perfect, I'll order those, given it's a winter commuter.
I managed to get them off quite easily with a few light taps of the hammer and supporting the bearing in a vice. Getting them back on might be a bit harder. I'll have to think about that, might use a deep socket on the inside part of the bearing.
So I just found out I have a TA axix bb in my track bike, not a miche bb like I thought I did. The TA is the perfect size with replaceable standard 6903 cartridges, only problem is mine are well cooked...how do you take the bearings off the axle and remove the one from the cup? What's a suitable replacement? I'm in australia so was gonna go for these.
Edit...got them off with a bit of hammer persuasion. Time to measure the suckers.
