I've got a 6700 groupset with a compact crankset. I want to use the bike for a credit card tour, so I'll be travelling light.
I'm 99% sure the rear mech will be short cage. I'm thinking I'll need a 30t or 32t on the rear cassette (currently have a 12-28 which I'm guessing will be too low?).
So the question is, will I be able to use a 32t cassette on a short cage? The Internet answer seems to be maybe. I will only have a day, maybe 2 to sort out any problems before I leave so I'd rather not risk anything to chance.

Is my best option to just pony up for a long cage rear? Like this one:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-Ultegra-RD-6700-GS-Road-Bike-Rear-Derailleur-For-Triple-Silver-/111658926520?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19ff6401b8
