Change of plan, I've sorted most of the fire damage stuff out for starters which is cool, also I'm not in an emergency to get this built now because I've finished putting my Sunday best together (had the frame lying around for missions), so I now have a bike to ride around on which isn't in danger of snapping in half.
It's a super nice 753 track frame built by Barry Chick, it's really nice, maybe too nice...
It's been two long years since I've had a hipster sled as pretty as bazza and whilst sliding around on it these past few weeks I've realised that I am actually not that keen on having a obviously flashy bike any more. Nearly every day on the commute someone has said "awesomeeee bieeeek dudebroski, like totally bodaciousss". I'm not keen on locking it up, lets put it like that.
So I'll be hanging onto the Duratec and selling my Sunday best instead.
My mate was over just now, I broke the news of this potential decision to and he said "What!? You're selling Barry for the ugly duracell thing?" That was the decider really.
This bike is now going to be my pub biek, after a few years of smashing around town in all weather and getting locked up outside Hermets Cave it will probably be nice and ratty. Well I'm going to give it a head start anyway.
I'll be using the cranks/bottom bracket from Barry, they're nice but not as shouty as new silver omnoms, the wheelset from the Bianchi, a beat Truvativ MTB finishing kit #riserlyf from the parts bin and I need to find a beat up saddle from somewhere, probably on here to complete the build. That plus a gradual collection of stickers and crap and it should be looking horrific in no time.
I can't wait to get this built, I am going to have so much fun smashing around on this not worrying about getting stone chips or shitting it every time I bunny hop road iron in case the front tyre clips the fork crown.
The build starts tomorrow at about 8pm, I'll keep youz posted. (Thats if I've got the right headset)
Sooo anyway.......
