At first I was blaming the front wheel design but looking back, that was the first and last serious potholes I've seen so far in Girona, so I put it down to stupidity not expecting UK style pothole.
The reason the g/f in front of me, who was perfectly fine because she's riding on 32mm 650b wheels with enough spokes to take both her body weight.
27mm Open Pave was amazing though, really reduced the road buzz on the descent.

They're excellent wheels, great for climbing too.
My accident was cause by not avoiding a pothole that buckle the front wheel enough to pop all the spokes off the hubs.
