I think it's worth reiterating here what the ladies forum is for.
LFGSS is a male-dominated forum, for the purposes of discussing a male-dominated activity. This can lead to it becoming inadvertently (and sometimes deliberately) unwelcoming to women. The ladies forum is designed to address that by providing somewhere for women to talk about things that affect them specifically, and above all to be a positive place where women can support and be supported by other women. Pointless arguments like this undermine these aims and I've tolerated it in this thread so far (as it's quite a good case study, given the wider subject matter), but I won't be continuing to tolerate it.
99.9% of people using LFGSS at large are cool with the aims of the ladies sub-forum, but if you are unable or unwilling to respect either the philosophy or timbre of it, then you're not going to be participating in it.
